HI,
I bought Video Studio 9 SE - it doesn't work.
I tried this Version on two PC's and everytime I got the same error.
The Computers are running Windows XP with 1 GB and 2 GB of RAM.
The type is fujitsu-siemens.
However, the installation of the Software works well.
When I start the software I get a window either to start the assistant or the editor. In both cases I get the same Error:
"unknown software exception" (0XC0000096).

Welcome to the forums,
When you install the program, do you disable your antivirus and spyware programs? If not try doing so.
Next try exempting Videostudio from Windows Data Execution Prevention.
1. Right-click on My Computer and Select Properties
2. In the System Properties dialogue that opens click on the Advance Tab.
3. Click on the Settings button for Performance.
4. In the Performance Options, click on the 3rd tab, Data Execution Prevention.
5. Click the radio button for Turn on DEP for all.....
6. Click on the Add button, a window will open that you can navigate to where the executable file for VS, MSP, PI or whatever program you're having problems with, is located. Generally this is found under C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\. However you may have it installed to some other location on your system.
7. Once you have found it, click on it to add it to the execeptions list.
