Ok, hopefully someone can help give me step by step instructions what I need to do.
I just bought a Canon HG10 camcorder. My goal is to take the video I record on there - copy it to my computer - edit it - burn it to a regular DVD - and play it on some sort of DVD player so that it plays back in HD.
Can someone give me step by step instructions how to do this? DVD Movie Factory 5.6 came with the camera. Based on what I've been reading - I'll need 6.0 Plus. Is that correct?
If I get Movie Factory 6.0 Plus - will I be able to transfer the data from my camcorder to my computer - then burn it to a regular/dual layer DVD - in a Blu-Ray format to be played in HD? Or do I need a Blu-ray burner and/or Blu-ray disks?
The more I read - the more confused I've been getting - and I only want to buy equipment once.
Please help - Canon HG10 to HD quality DVD
Here are links to what the program can do.
Dvd players can only playback Standard Definition. Some can playback HighDef Divx video now, depends. You already have an HDTV, correct?
If not standard dvd's will look very good anyway.

Thanks, but that really doesn't answer my question. I've read plenty of these forums also that have noted that there are misleading items in the material for this software also.
Will MF6 Plus allow me to import my AVCHD files from my Canon HG10, edit and manipulate them, and burn them to a regular DVD in either AVCHD or a blu-ray compatible format so that I get HD quality?
I've played around with MF 5.6 and have burned a standard disc which appears to be in a lower resolution than the AVCHD one I created. Will that AVCHD disc be readable in a PS3?

Yes, no problem. Actually you don't need any software to playback your HD videos on the PS3. Just copy them from the cam to any type of media the PS3 can read and play them back! The PS3 makes this easy.
In MF6+ you would also need to purchase this HD-Add-on pack to really expand it's capabilities, including making AVCHD disks.

If you want to edit the avc/h264 videos then VS11+ may be better.
MF6+ won't let you actually edit the avc/h264 like VS11+ would, depending on how fast your computer is.
Going by your posts, probably VS11+ would be better, especially on the editing side. With VS11+ you don't need to purchase anything else as long as you buy the Plus version. The 2 patches bring the whole program up to snuff.
Don't bother with the trial.
