Capture still image from 16:9 video-distorted result

Post by bardon »

If I try to capture a still frame from a 16:9 AVCHD video, I can save a jpg, but the image is stretched vertically (rather than keeping the original aspect ratio). The project is 16:9, but the captured images look like what you'd get if you tried to set a DVD player up to output a 16:9 image on a 4:3 TV. Is there no way to have a jpeg encoded at the correct resolution? There should be no constraint on the aspect ratio of an image that I can think of...

First you need to be in Project Mode. Then when you have the "frame" that you want to save as an image, go to Tools menu and select Save Current Frame as image.
