My name Prasad and I am in Dubai. I am new to making DVDs from cam corder tapes.
I have a Sony Vedeo camera(TRV19E) with tape model.
I want to convert my tapes in to DVDs.
I found the DVDs I created are not matching ( much inferior)with the quality on the Tapes in cam corder.

Can you please suggest me what settings I should use while capturing and then converting?
I am Firewire card in my system
I am using Windows XP soft ware.
I am using an old PC where I am having only total 40 GB hard disk with two partitions.
I am using USB cable supplied with camera and not Fire wire cable.
I am having tapes of about 90 minutes recording.

Can you suggest me how best I can make DVD to get the best quality.
I read your tutorials and found them quite extensive. But I want to simplify.
How to know what is the frame of my tape(16.9) or different?
If I reduce bit rate will it improve the quality.

I am using ULEAD VEDEO STUDIO 10 version.

Can you advise me capture settings and burn settings.
Best regards
V V S Prasad

The problem of quality would apear on face value to be

I also suspect that you are "Capturing" to MPEG2 in view of your limited hard drive space where in fact you should be "transferring" in DV using your firewire cable.
If I reduce bit rate will it improve the quality.
The reverse is true - if you reduce the bit rate you reduce the quality.
Simply accept the default settings offered by the program. If you do not know what it is you are changing it is best to stick to the default values.
