NOT HAPPY 11.5 User!! Upgraded to Vista Ultimate and ...

Hi,

I have been using VS since V7.

I had problems with XP Pro when upgraded to VS 11.5 with not being able to preview and generate final DVD.

I upgraded Video Card to 8800GT (512mb), Upgraded OS to clean install of Vista Ultimate. Installed some of my other registered software inc Corel X3, Nero V8 and AVG (Antivirus).

I clean installed VS 11+ with no additional packs or patches.
V11.0.0157.0 Plus

Created a small video using the default V01 video to run a total of 1.18sec.

Cleared the timeline and went to create DVD using the 1.18sec video above.

Went to add/edit chapters at 1min and got error ' VS Has Stopped Working' - Program then shuts down!!

Start again add same small vid file went to Create and Preview. No preview would show in preview screen!!

At least I can go NEXT and Create a DVD Now!!

NOT HAPPY!!

Any suggestions?

Hi!

I use VS on Vista Home Premium and I can assure you it works.

So we're going to have to try and help you out.

Where to start I don't know!

Run the program from the shortcut by right clicking and running as administrator.

Let me know how you go from there...if there is any improvement anyway.

Installed Powerpack to bring version up to

11.5.0157.1 Plus

Right clicked and ran as Administrator with same results on all fronts.

you'll need to get it to .2 plus- so you are missing a patch there somewhere.

There was one just a few days before the power pack.

If you feel you are getting frustrated you'll need to get some xxxx in ya!

Hi,

Just when iwas about to thow it all in.......

I downloaded the TRIAL version of DVD Moviefactory 6 thinking that iw what i was going to replace VS11 Plus with...

Installed and ran a quick video and slideshow test to see how it all worked.

Could see the previews and edit the menus then back to preview.

Funnily enough looked like VS 11. i got to thinking that it might have fixed VS 11 and guess what!!

VS 11 can now view previews and edit chapters without errors!!

Will see how long this lasts...

Now to add all the other menu templates and graphics for VS11 to do some more testing!!

You need to download & install the 2 updates.
The first patch and then the HD-Pack.
Then make sure to install DirectX 9.0C dated November 2007, even for Vista.

First, you know that VS11+ original release needs to be patched.
Second, a short video like 2 secs brought into the burning module is to short AND if you haven't installed DirectX 9.0C dated November 2007 wiil sometimes crash VS11+.

I thaught I had installed all the updates??

Maybe DVD Movifactory was the one that installed Direct X that seemed to have fixed VS11.5

So what "PATCHES' am I missing?

I didi not have a failed install so did not install that patch.

I think it's better if you installed both patches indicated and see if that sorts out your problems.

I don;t know which patch you have missing cause I don;t know which patch you installed.

VS11 Plus
Power Pack - HD Editing
Bonus CD
Content Pack
Burgers Transition

I cant see any other patches?

The first patch is dated 6 November 2007 -- it is at the bottom of the list on the Ulead.com > Downloads site. It should change the final '1' in your version number to 2.

If you are using Vista, you already have DirectX 10. But the November 2007 (coincidentally) update patch available on the Microsoft DirectX update page will update both DirectX 9.0c (XP SP2) and Vista, though it won't change the number of the version when you check that with dxdiag.

Now..we need to know where you are getting your video files from and how are you doing that.

Then, what you want to achieve with it. It looks like you are making a DVD with a chapter points.

Hi,

I think I have applied all patches and seems to be all working.

I had most links setup to additional audio,video sub menus but after installing last patch all defaulted back again!!

Have my smartsounds working again.. so fingers crossed.

Version is now 11.5.0157.2 Plus
and Powerpack 1.0

Is that it?
