Extracting/saving a movie clip in MP3 format

Post by beele »

Hi,

Just wondering whether it is possible to extract the sound in MP3 format from an existing video file. WinDVD creator has that feature.

Thanks.

I would use Win DVD Creator then. Why try to get something else to work if you already have a working application?

Hi,

You're right. I was going to stick to it until I upgraded to Windows Vista. Corel then told me to use Ulead Movie Factory Plus 6 since they have no plans to upgrade WinDVD Creator 3 to be Vista compatible. Hence.... the question. I suppose Ulead does not have that feature. It is really handy.

The difference between MF6 Standard and MF6 PLUS is the plus version also has audio conversion tools and other extra programs, a separate program for burning audio CD's, making MP3 CD's or DVD's, DVD audio disks, dvd-video_audio_only disks, data burning and some other features like making bootable disks.
That's why they said to use MF6+ (Plus)

Is there a way of taping a message directly from my video camera and then convert the video file into an MP3 file? I can't seem to do that in MF6+. Please advise. Thanks.

Launch DVDMF6+ using the Launcher. Then choose Audio Disc. From that menu select the MP3 disc option. Now on the top menu, select Convert, which will open a window (Convert Audio Files), that will allow you to add the files you want to convert.

Press the Add button. Now in this dialog window you notice the typical Files of Type option is "All Formats". Pressing the drop-down menu arrow will reveal all the formats that are allowed. Some of these include "avi, wmv, and mpeg". Locating and selecting a video file format, will bring in that video file, and will allow you to produce an audio file from that video...

Is that what you're after?

Hi vdoman,

That's exactly what I want to do. I'm going ahead to buy MF6+. Thanks for your help.

Make sure to download & install the patches after installing the retail version.
Then download and install DirectX 9.0C dated November 2007.
The items you want are accessible from the MF6+ Launching Screen.

Thanks again for your help. Appreciate if you could direct me to the site where I can download all of the above i.e. patches, DirectX 9, etc. Should I also download patches for DF6 when I have DF6+?
