Yep and as you have no doubt found, it still says that it is due on 15 April when you click on the Trial link. And moreover, it is already 16 April here in Australia!!

I dont think they would lie to us ... After all if they did, it would only show us they really dont tell the customer that their being truthfull..

I bet they roll it out before the day is up here in the US , after all they wouldnt want us to think anything else.

The Ulead.com website has some internal bugs that have prevented me from registering VS9 or even contacting Tech Support. They are not exactly firing on all cylinders in the great Ulead support machine.

And now I get a email saying the version 9 is out to buy but yet , No download... Think they got ahead of themselves it alread almost 11:30 pm est us and nothing to test out.. Oh well ..

I ordered the boxed version of VS9 and I am very happy that I did, after reading the horror stories of those who chose the download route...

Yeah but iwanted to try it before buying it... I guess they lied after all cause its the 16th and no download...

Very disappointed in Ulead telling us it would be out and not even updating there page to tell us why its not.

This assures me not to purchase the new version until trying it since I fear many bugs is why the release isn't out.

Very disappointed.

Got to agree with you john510.

I used to be a hardware engineer in the computing industry and the guys that dreamed up the software used to release it, then wait, for either us hardware guys to make it work or get feedback from the users so they could patch it.

All in all, I almost NEVER purchase a first release of any software.
If I need to, I read and re-read reviews of it on forums like this before I take the plunge.

Does this mean that there is no trial version ov VS available now? I was going to download one this weekend (version 8 I thought) but that seems to be history. Also the website is very prone to being unavailable (as are these forums) is this a 'feature' that people have come to expect?

You can still download the trial version of VideoStudio 8 from Ulead's ftp site. That is of course if you can connect to it.

It's taken me all day just to get onto these forums... every time I try I get a DNS error. I've even had to turn off DNS caching as failed attempts to load these pages resulted in peculiar hang-ups for other web pages (me no understand!)

I simply can't navigate around Uleads websites without extraordinary difficulty so I'm wondering if I really ought to be so patient, and look elsewhere.

I did manage to get a reply from tech support o a question I raised aout upgrading to version 9 early last week, and in the reply was a 5% discount coupon number. So I did actually decide to buy the product and filled in the order form but it rejected the coupon number! I raised this as another query, but have not had a reply since
