Hello
I am using VS11.5+ and I am trying to get VHS directly into the program. I keep getting an error message stating that "cannot start capture graph".
Using the same equipment I can capture to Pinnacle 9 and VS 7.
Does anyone know how to cure this or even what it means so I can look for a cure.
Kind Regards

Hello
Sorry about that I was consentrating more on the error than on the question.
VHS player conected via composite leads through Dazzle and USB into the computer.
Using Pinnacle obviously it is not a problem.
Using VS7 no problems encounted
Using VS11.5 Plus the dazzle input souce is recognised but when Capture is clicked the input screen which was showing the video tape content being played goes blank and the error box is displayed saying "cannot start capture graph".
Regards

The Dazzle devices are normally 'hard wired' only to work with Pinnacle software, so I am a little surprised to hear you can capture using VS7. which version of VS7 is it -- I mean does it have the letters SE after it? If so, it could have come with the Dazzle and been tweaked (by Pinnacle) to work with the device, though that at first glance would seem strange to me.
I can't think what to suggest that might get it to work with VS11.5+, particularly if it is only meant to work with Pinnacle Studio (or VS7!!) Many of us don't use VS to capture with, preferring other programs for that. (I use WinDV for DV capture, for instance). I assume you are capturing direct to DVD compatible mpeg-2 format. Well, at least you have a work-around -- being able to capture in Pinnacle or VS7 and then simply opening the captured video in VS11.5 for editing...

Hello
Thanks for the reply, I do have a means to get the data into the computer as you point out. I have noticed that with VS11.5Plus there is only one option in the "change capture plugin" option whereas in VS7 ther are three options: Ulead direct capture plugin, Ulead DSW MPEG capture plugin and Windows media format capture plugin.
On VS11.5plus ther is only one plugin and that is named IVI Capture Component.
I have looked but cannot find these plugin components amongest the files.
The question now is : Would it be possib le to move these components around or is it possible to install these componts if they are available.
Does anyone know where they 'live' or if they are available form Corel or another source.
Regards

Please don't double post. As I just said in your other post with the same question, there is no point in looking or trying to transfer the capture modules from earlier versions if you are now using Vista. Corel changed the capture module because the older ones were DirectShow and this is apparently incompatible with Vista.
