I have a Canon HD camera that records in the .m2ts file format. I purchased the full version Ulead Video Studio 11 Plus and it came with WinDVD 8. The camera came with some basic applications including the SE version of WinDVD- I am able to open the m2ts files using the SE version, but the playback is a bit choppy at times, but the main problem is the audio not being in sync with the picture. Once I realized that m2ts files would not work in the basic version of Video Studio that came with the camera, I upgraded to the full version- and I am able to import the m2ts files into that program without a problem for video editing- but it is not very good at being a simple movie playback program to watch what I've recorded. The strange thing is- after I purchased Video Studio 11 that supported m2ts, the files suddenly played back fine in WinDVD 8! I had a system crash and had to reinstall everything. - and everything is working fine- except WinDVD 8 does not recognize m2ts as a valid file format apparently becasue the files are not viewable in the program file browser. It is however viewable in the lesser SE version, - only the play back is still poor with the audio sync problem. Any ideas? It all was working great previously. I know WinDVD 8 is supposed to support this type of file. I have uninstalled WinDVD8 and WinDVD SE and reinstalled both of them a couple of times with the same results:
- Poor playback in SE
- File are unavailable in version 8
