I called Canon about the packaged software with the HG10 (Ulead DVD Movie Factory SE). It crashes, stating it encountered an error and then subsequently shuts down every time I try to get my videos back off my computer hardrive. Canon tech support said Corel came out with a patch for people using AMD Processors. They told me that the Corel program has issues with AMD Processors and in order for me to be able to use their software I would need to go to their website and download the patch. Why can't I find this patch? If it is there, it sure is not obvious. I would have expected that there are other people who have AMD processors and this would be a MAJOR problem. I downloaded & installed all the patches I could find on the site pertaining to the packaged software that came with my Canon HG10.
What do I do now?
Patch for Ulead DVD Movie Factory SE using AMD Processors
I appreciate your help on this matter.
I have already downloaded the patches associated with the HG10 and the DVD MovieFactory. The result was "could not find DVD MovieFactory 5.6 on the computer" I am using the "SE" version that came with my camcorder. I was told from Canon that there was a patch specifically for people who have AMD processors. I was told that Corel knows of the problem with AMD processors and had developed a patch for it and it was on their website. I can't find it and no one at Corel is answering the phones today. I hope I have not lost all my video's that were uploaded to my PC using the software Canon supplied with my HG10. This, of course is quite frustrating.

Try the 30 day free trial of MF6+ unlike the SE version it is fully functional though has less templates than when you purchase it. I have various versions of MovieFactory and they all work fine on my AMD 2400+ running both Windows XP SP2 and also Vista Home Premium.
