Saving Trimmed video clipped

Post by michaelpalmer »

Need Helping regarding saving Trimmed video clipped. My problem is after I trim the video clip, the ¡§Save Trimmed Video¡¨ under Clip does not highlight in order to save it. I have followed Tutorial called Trimmed Clips where it talks about saving the trimmed clip: http://www.takeoneflix.com/ulead-videos ... ing-clips/

I have followed the tutorial step by step, pausing and playing several times, and can¡¦t get my trimmed video clip saved. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

I have done a search too in the forums and have found no one having the same issue I am.

I am using VideosStudio 11 Plus with recent updates. My new computer is an HP

btw, this community and tutorials have been excellent. I have learned so much and able to produce videos faster than I would have had it not been for the wonderful tutorials. Thanks!

Have you actually clicked on the clip you want to save in the timeline, so that it is selected? That usually activates 'Save Trimmed Video'...

Yes Ken, I have. I have tried from the Storyboard View and from the working files edit area above. The "Save Trimmed Video" remains un-highlighted.

It is not a big deal since I complete my video project then rendered it. Its just if I ever want to go back and re-edit my project and the files have been moved on the computer to a different location, the issues is relinking properly. See my other question here:

I appreciate the effort Ken. It might just be a glitch on my end. I might try a reinstall.

Michael, I just noticed the same problem-I did a multi-trim on a clip, and then wanted to save the trimmed segments as their own clips.

The video is 16:9 1440x1080 AVCHD that I shot with my Canon HG10 if that makes a difference. The trial didn't let me add the m2t files directly, but I was able to add them through the capture interface. Any ideas?

Bardon, I still can't get my trimmed clips saved, no matter what I do. I have the full version. I haven't reinstalled either, though that might be a solution. Hopefully, so one will have some other ideas.

I am suggesting a long shot. Remove the clip from the time line. Reinsert the clip, Trim again and try to save OR alternately open a new project insert a smaple clip, trim and save. This will establish if VS11+ is faulty. Then, as you had suggested, go for a reinstall.

Hi
A few thoughts

Just read your posts and noticed that you say you are using m2t files. I assume these to be a Canon/Sony type file extension.
I do not think VS can re-code to m2t type files.
Although under Share Create Video File-Custom-Mpeg the extension m2t is shown the resultant file uses Mpeg-2

When you use Save Trimmed Video the resultant file is using the source files properties, in your case (m2t)
Unless Corel has provided a fix/update then I doubt it would work.

So what is the extension of your files? right click a clip and select properties.

Others on the forum may have more info regarding m2t files.

As a work-round, you could insert the trimmed video to a new project, use share Create Video File to HD ¡V DVD.

babdi, I will try that suggestion after I get over this flu crap :(

My files are from a Panasonic HDC-SD1 high definition video using avchd format. All raw video files are .m2t
