G'day,
I want to burn a large Photo AND Video combo slide show presentation onto DVD. I then want to be able to control the slide show, by manually going through each picture and vid clip in sequence, on any other PC computer, using just the content and software on the DVD. That is, without the host computer having VideoStudio installed.
Can I author & output this with VideoStudio?
I had a look through the features PDF for VideoStudio and it only mentioned a picture slide show - not mixed picture and video slide show.
Thanks
Orpheus

While you could do this in VS9, either DVD Movie Factory or Picture Show would be a better tool.
The cost of these tools is quite reasonable and I would recommend them over VS9 for that kind of presentation.

Hi MikeGunter,
Thanks very much for your input. I did ask if what I wanted could be done in the Picture Show forum, and was told I would need VideoStudio - which I thought was a video editor!
The range of Ulead products are really confusing as they all seem to do similar things and I can't find the information I want at the website.
I've emailed their sales to see what they say. Thanks again.

You can upload a clip, and photos, in VS9, but Picture Show allows for better intergration of what we *think* of as a picture presentation with video clips.
It isn't a video editor. And it is possible that you will want more than one piece of software to do the job you want done.

We currently do this slide presentation using a program called XnView on a notebook - but we want more people to make more presentations and we dont wanto to buy a notebook for everyone. XnView is so easy, I had no idea it would be so hard to burn a combo presentation on a DVD.MikeGunter wrote:You can upload a clip, and photos, in VS9, but Picture Show allows for better intergration of what we *think* of as a picture presentation with video clips.

Have you used Picture Show? Are you sure you can put vids and pics in the same presentation onto DVD?
Thanks again,
Orpheus
PS. Still no word from sales.

Using pictures and videos together in a show in VideoStudio is no problem at all - in fact it's one of the easiest things to do - just put your images and videos in the top track in whatever order/mix that suits you - some people do have problems with the quality of still images used in VideoStudio but if you read some of the other threads on here you will see that there are ways to avoid it.
Depends on exactly how you want to manouvere between photo's and videos - you could very easily create thumbnails on the title pages to do that - you can have a maximum of 12 thumbnails on a screen and I believe you can have up to 8 menu screens. - then just use UVS to burn it to a DVD.

Thanks BrianCee

PS. Still no response from sales.
The presenter talks and clicks the mouse or the spacebar to move from one full screen pic to another with vid clips in between. It's just a simple slide presentation - no fancy anything really.BrianCee wrote:...Depends on exactly how you want to manouvere between photo's and videos ....

Hi Orpheus
Not sure if I've understood correctly, but there could be two parts to your question.
First, if you want to burn your project without everyone needing VS8 installed on their PCs or Laptops to play it, you can install a VS8 player as you burn you project disk.
Second, if you want to 'walk through' your project, one way maybe to break it down in edit and save your project in its constuent parts and then open 'share' and drop them in sequence into the title box to be played as individual chapters. Maybe some of the more experienced can say whether that is a feasible solution (I've a grand total of a couple of months experience of this lark).
Regards.
