Timeline Won't Zoom / Adjust Width / Fit in Window / Scale

Post by intersilmultimedia »

The width of my clips on the timeline does not change when I move the Timeline Zoom slider nor when I click on Fit in Window, Zoom Out, and Zoom In. Clicking with the Zoom tool (the magnifying glass icon) causes the window to scroll to the right but does not change the actual scale.

Below are three screen shots. You'll see the timeline is the same on all three even though the position of the slider on the Timeline Zoom is different.

I've restarted MSP and rebooted the computer. Also, this problem happens in all my projects. It was working fine yesterday. Any suggestions?

You can see these and other problem photos at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2 ... 1130568685

I am using:
* MediaStudio Pro 8.00.0028 Trial Package
* Sony HDR-FX1 (recording in HDV mode)
* Windows XP Pro SP2 with 3Gb of memory, a video card, and a hard drive with plenty of room

The black line puzzles me.

What are the properties of the content?

This is an HDV 1080i project using content digitized from a Sony HDR-FX1 camera. It is the same as all my projects have been for the last two weeks, only this problem started today.

The black line is just a color clip I added. I though the problem might be helped if I added a little more to the project.

Sorry, can't help: have no experience of HDV. I was not meaning the black colour clip, but the black line in the timeline header. You seem to be on Instant Preview and I've seen colours from pink to red, never black.

Are your project settings identical with the video properties?

Have you tried the normal preview?

Maybe you are in the summary timeline mode?

Hope that helps.

I've done that... <g>

Don't feel bad. After a couple of years of working with MSP, I somehow ended up in summary timeline mode which totally messed me up for a least a couple of hours.

interesting. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a summary timeline mode. I'll look out for that one.
