will ulead keep support in dvd mf6+

Post by tootal2 »

I want to keep making hd-dvds from tivo hd files. Im worried that hd-dvd support will be pulled from mf6 and i wont be able to make hd-dvds on dvd-r.

I would use blu-ray but they take way to long to make. converting a 1080i mpeg2 to mpeg4 takes a very long time. and im not going to buy a blu-ray player till profile 2.0 player comes out under 300.00$

thanks

The plans are to continue development of

VideoStudio
MovieFactory
PhotoImpact.
WinDVD
Paint Shop Pro

Other existing software supported by this Web Board is unlikely to be developed further.

Will Ulead keep support for HD-DVD in DVD MF?

Post by Velojet »

Not quite what tootal2 was asking. He chose a title for this thread that wasn't precise enough - he should have worded it as I've worded the subject of this reply. IOW, will HD-DVD continue to be supported, despite the decline of support for it by major movie houses and distributors? Or Will Blu-Ray be the only method supported in future by Corel/Ulead for creating high definition movies?

(My own guess, FWIW, is that it's too soon to expect any such commitment from Corel at this stage. You can probably crystal-ball-gaze as well as anybody around these parts.)

Like Velojet has said, at this moment in time no one knows what will become of the HD DVD format.
