Post by davidddr »

After editing my video i go to the share tab, then create disc, when i try to add chapters the program closes. If I choose not to add chapters i can create a disc. I am using vista home premium

Thanks

Try following the Suggested Workflow of creating an MPEG2 file (Share>Create Video File) after editing. When that is finished, clear your timeline, then choose Share>Create Disc. When the burn window opens choose Insert Media to insert your MPEG2 file. Try to add chapters and burn.

The same problem occured to me: To save time and hdd space, after editing, I immedaiately wanted to create DVD folder or Disc Image: Share - Create Disc - Add Video Studio project file. Thumnail appears in the timeline,(chapter count 1 as no chapter has been created during editing) but Preview Window is inactive (gray) . Create Menu is enabled, Use the first clip as introductory video is disabled. After clicking Add/Edit chapters and selecting the only clip, Preview Window continues to be inactive, Add chapter is also inactive, only Auto Add Chapters is active. (Total Chapters: 1) Clicking Auto chapters and adding frequency, the programme stops. What do I wrong? I use Ulead VideoStudio 11.0.0157.0 Plus and Ulead Dolby Digital Power Pack 1.0 under Windows XP Home Service Pack 2.
Many thanks for assisstance in advance.

jcsaba,

First to add auto chapters, the video must be at least 1 minute in length. For the Add/Edit Chapter to become active, you must have a clip selected (highlighted) in the time-line. Now in the Add/Edit Chapter window, move the playhead slightly to to the right. Generally it will need at least 2 seconds of video to be able to add a chapter. The Add Chapter button should now become active.

To find out more please review the User Guide. It explains all this starting around page# 114.

Create disc with videostudio 11

Post by davidddr »

I purchased vs 11 as an upgrade from vs 7.0. I have uninstalled both versions and re-installed vs 11 on its own, It nows seams to create auto chapters without closing down the program

Thanhs

Dera Mr. Vidoman,
Thanks for the advice, most of them I was fully aware of. I downloaded the latest DirectX which helped me. In the mean time, I dowlnoaded, as suggested, the two uprades to VS 11, but I cannot install as my version is likely to be a trial one. Though a strange trial one: on ulead website the trial one is roughly 140 MB, mine is close to 354 MB including set up file.
Thanks for your help again.

Do you have VS11, which only has 1 overlay track, or VS11Plus which has 6 overlay tracks? The Power Pack will only install to the Plus version.

The TBYB (trial) version is as you stated is only 140MB, not 354, so you should have the full version.

I have VS 11 Plus, on the starting page no serial number appears, that is why I think it is a trial version and that is the reason for me not beeing able to install either upgrades. Why I miss these upgrades, is the small choice of menu templates my (trial) version offers.

And where did you get it from???
You would know if you have downloaded a 30 day free trial or if you have parted with your well earned money.

I received it from a friend of mine. I have got, however, a two-disc "full version" with its serial no which I installed. The first disc contained the program itself, while the second WindDVD 8 and Disc Image Recorder softwares, set of Bacground Images, Frames, Objects, Theater Backgrounds, Audios, Sample and Introduction Videos etc. under a DemoShield Production. Firstly, do I really need the WinDVD8 DVd players and the Disc Image Recorder if I have other well-running sofwares for that purpose? Secondly, directly from the Ulead VS 11 Plus, I have no access to these images and videos I have on the second CD, simply I don't know how to install them (the relevant content files of my version is empty). I still suffer from the little choice of menu templates, lay-outs etc. In addition, the two upgrades still don't work (they find no UVS 11 on my computer), Maybe this is not the right topic for these issues, sorry to pose it here. Any help would be warmly welcomed.

There should be a content files to install. I'm not sure which CD it would be on, as I have the ESD version. If you can not locate it, you can download it from the following link;

VS11+ Content File

Many thanks for the link, unfortunately it didn't help me. The installer cannot find UVS 11 Plus ESD on my computer as I installed it from CDs.
