Hi,
I've copied my VHS to DVD using my DVD player. The DVD plays fine on other DVD players and through Windows Media Player, but when I import it into Ulead V10, it doesn't play correctly. It appears to be zoomed in and doesn't display the entire frame, only about 1/4 of it.
I'm not sure what else to try...
Thanks!

We need to know the properties of the source files (right click on one), not just what type they are or where they came from.
Same thing with the output properties. From the burn module click on the cogwheel in the bottom left corner and list those properties.

Are you importing the DVD into VideoStudio correctly.
Please click this link
Please click this link
I believe I am importing them correctly, although I use the "import video" selection, instead of the "import DVD" selection. When I try to "import DVD", I receive the following error message: Failed to read DVD information. Report ID: 0x80040901(2305).
These settings are from the burn module:
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Frame-based
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 7000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 256 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)
The settings from the source are:
mpeg-2 video
11,329 frames
24 bit, 352x240
29.970 frames/sec
104857 kbps
Thanks for your help!!!

Now we can see why you have this problem...
The source video clip's frame sizes are 1/2 the size of your Project Properties. So what VS is doing is using the Project properties Frame size of 720 x 480, and enlarging your source video frame size of 352 x 240 to match that.
Since this is your source video frame size, you will either have to produce another DVD using that smaller Frame size, or have this "zoomed-in" look.

Thank you for your response. I was wondering about those inconsistencies myself. But I have copied to DVD before and the frame size matched, so I'm not sure what went wrong, since I haven't changed anything. I guess I will have to contact the manufacturer of my DVD recorder...
Thanks for all your help!
