WinXp Shuts Down when trying to playback video in Ulead 11 P
Can someone tell me why every time I try to preview any video in the play back window in Ulead 11 the video window goes pink, my pc locks up and shuts down. I have downloaded all patches for Ulead, my Nividia card, and got the latest Win XP updates. I use a Nividia 6200 card on a AMD dual core processor, 2 gig of ram.

win shutdown
The pc is new, and the error message I get once it boots back up is device driver cause a windows error causing windows to shut down. I spoke with a Ulead tech and they were not sure what it was, the tech said he was going to elevate the problem up to the developers.

To me it sounds like a video driver issue.
Can you check in Windows "Event viewer" next time you get a crash and reboot...it gives clues as to what was happening when the crash was caused and it gives decent clues to what's going on.
Make sure your Video drivers are up to date.
Also...what kind of video are you using?

Check "event viewer" it gives more details on what caused the crash.pebratcher wrote:just video captured, plus i can't play any sample vids that came with Ulead 11. I updated my Nividia drivers.
It's a new computer, why did you update the Nvidia drivers?
Because of this problem or just to get the latest release?
Could be a bad driver or customized settings in the Nvidia control panel, such as on dual screens playing back full screen video on the secondary display.
Did you happen to install the Nvidia WDM video/audio capture drivers?
If you don't have any Nvidia TV cards or capture devices you don't install them, only the video drivers & control panel.
VS also has a display preference, under "Preferences". I have mine set to "Instant Playback" & "Preview Screen". The other settings may be conflicting trying to access the secondary display.
