OPEN *.VOB FILES IN VS11

Post by asklavos »

:?
I DOWNLOADED THE TRIAL VERSION OF VS11. I TRIED TO EDIT *.VOB FILES BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE OPTION FOR SUCH FILES IN OPEN WINDOW.
IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO OPEN *.VOB FILES?

I don't agree with converting VOB to AVI, since a VOB file is a container file, that contains the MPEG-2 file. So in essence you're uncompressing it from MPEG2 to probably fully incompressed AVI, which results in a huge, unmanageable file size, only to have to recompress it to MPEG-2 again to be burned onto a DVD. This will result in a loss in quality.

If the method used described in the link provided by sjj1805, the MPEG-2 file is maintained in it's format, and minimal quality loss will be realized, when it is burned to DVD again..
