Video Filters Missing - Redoux

Post by gebirgsjager »

I really hate feeling stupid. I am a new user to VS11+ and about 30 days into an hour long project. Today I noticed that the video filters drop down menu item is gone.

I did a search on this forum and found that this is a common problem. I have tried the advice on these threads...

http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=17854

http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... ng+filters

...and nothing has worked.

I tried saving a copy of the vfilter.rsf file to my desktop, then deleting it as Ilene apparently had good luck with. Nope!

I can't even find a documents and settings folders on my computer, so I can't find the uvs.ini file to delete it as TDK1044 suggested?

I created another user account and found that the filters are O.K. on that account. But no matter what I do, I can't seem to restore them back to my program on my account.

Can anybody offer a suggestion that an idiot like me can understand? I'm running Vista. I'm also getting a crash almost every time I close VS. I read that the loss of the filters might be linked to that.

Thanks in advance
Blair

Documents and settings folders = XP
C:\Users\Stephen\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\11.0 = Vista

Replace Stephen with your Vista user name.

So you need to delete the following file:
C:\Users\Stephen\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\11.0\Vfilter.rsf

That was it. The exact, easy fix I was looking for. And no problem with my library.

The only thing that I would add, for people even less computer literate than me, is that the AppData file is hidden. The only reason I knew that was because of a previous thread. You've got to allow windows to show hidden files to then procede to this folder

C:\Users\Stephen\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\11.0\Vfilter.rsf

Thank you, sjj1805. One of the big reasons I went with this product was because of this forum.

Best,
