lost icon and uninstaller

lost icon and uninstaller

For some reason the icon for Videostudio 11 on my desktop and elsewhere has changed to the generic Microsoft file icon. When searching for a solution I also found that VS11 had disappeared from the list of programs in control panel's uninstall menu. The program is still on my computer and seems to be working. What has caused this and what can I do about it?

Yikes!

I have never heard this one before.

Have you installed recently some kind of new software or done a registry clean-up?

I'd go for a System Restore in Windows.
Failing that re-install.
