Converting VSP to WMV?

Post by jen801 »

I've made a video in version 11, and it saved with a .VSP format, the only format I am allowed to save under. When i hit "create disc" under tools, it is saved in a .VOP format, which doesn't play on Windows media player. Is there any program I can use to convert this file to a WMV or other format that windows media player can play? I've tried a couple programs, but I either end up with a watermark right in the middle or only 50% , and end up with blurry pictures and videos.

Is there any free program, even a 3 day trial one, where I wont get a watermark, and get full quality?

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

the .vsp file is just the Video Studio project file - it is a pointer to the video files that make up the project, along with title and filter information etc.

If you wish to generate a video file which you can play with, say, Windows Media Player, you need to click on "Share" then "Create Video File" and choose a suitable output file format. That will depend on what you wish to do with the file and what format your source video clips are in. If we assume that your ultimate intention is to produce a DVD, then you might choose NTSC DVD(4:3, Dolby digital 5.1) as a starting point. (PAL if you're in PAL land) If you don't want surround sound, you need to choose the "custom" option. On my pc that gives similar file properties but uses LPCM stereo sound.

The VS11 trial should enable you to produce a fully functional DVD within the thirty day trial period, without any watermark.

I've realized almost right after I posted this topic how to do it :D
However, when I converted it to WMV format, the pictures and videos came out pretty pixelated. Is there a format that will maintain the video and picture quality better?

What are your clip's properties?

What are your project properties?

What are your output properties?
