Hi,
I'm trying to copy a dvd disc I created. It's not copy protected. It's just a 2 hour video of a focus group I recorded on a Panasonic DVD recorder at our facility. I need to make copies of it and when I try I get an error that says type of disc requires on-the-fly copying.
When I try to click the box for "On-the-fly" it's not available. It's faded.
How do I do this? Do I have to upgrade or what? I've copied other dvd videos I've created though I've never tried copying stuff that was created on that Panasonic recorder.
Thanks,
Terry

What type of dvd was used when recording in the Panasonic Recorder? DVD-RAM/DVD-RW/DVD-RW/DVD+R/ DVD-R?
If you can read this disks contents from your computer what are the contents on the dvd?
The source disk is probably in another format type than the target disk.
In other words is their a VIDEO_RM directory and a VIDEO_TS?
Or just a VIDEO_TS?
Or just a VRO_RTAV?.

It's a -R. I only have one DVD recorder in my computer so I don't have a source disk unless you're talking about my computer acting as the disk. This is a standard DVD that one could play in one's DVD player at home or computer. I use the same blank DVDs to record on on my computer that they use at the focus group facility to record groups with.
You could copy the dvd to your local harddisk and then burn a DVD-Video disk using those files.
It would help if you posted the contents of the dvd.

Or, just a VIDEO_TS directory.
The disc had to have been finalized otherwise you wouldn't be able to read it in your computer correct?

VIDEO_TS
It's finalzed. It says "Video_TS" when I look at the disk on explorer. What does that mean and why is it important? Shouldn't I be able to copy it no matter what? It's not a copy protected disk. It's a disk I created.
What does on the fly mean? It sounds like it means that I have 2 drives and I'm copying one to other. I dont' have 2 drives. I have one drive. Normally I hit copy, the computer reads it the disk. When it's finished copying the disk it prompts me for a 2nd disk to burn to.
That's not happening. When I hit copy I get an error that says "this tpe of disk must be copied on the fly".
