VS8 won't recognize DVD disc

When I try to burn a DVD fromVS8 'Create Disc' mode; I'm getting an error message that disc is not empty or disc is not in the DVD burner even though I just put a new DVD RW disc in and I was able to copy other files to a disc minutes ago from my file manager???

When you get to the last screen before rendering/burning begins, click on "burner advanced settings". Check "format DVD+RW". This should work for you.

If you haven't applied the updates there are specific updates for burning issues.

Also, DLA (Drive Letter Access) utilities such as Roxio's Drag To Disk will interfere with the UVS burning module, because they will mount the blank disk and assign a drive letter to it. You will have to close the DLA software, if any.

I had the same sort of problems when I had Nero installed. Every time I went to burn, Video Studio would shut down, as well as Nero's "In CD". A simple uninstall of "In CD" brought everything to normal.
