Hello everyone,
I've recently put together a new PC and am looking to buy a software DVD player that supports PureVideo decoding (courtesy of my 8800GT) and passthrough of DD/DTS streams to my surround sound system (via my Audigy 4 w/ optical dongle). I downloaded the WinDVD 8 Platinum trial the other week and have experienced a few glitches with it's deinterlacing. It appears that my image is prone to jittering on some DVDs until playback is paused and resumed, at which point the issue resolves itself.
The DVD that I'm using is Spongebob Squarepants Series 3, disc 1. It's a UK PAL release.
Has anyone else had this problem and managed to resolve it? Is the issue with WinDVD or with the drivers for the graphics card?
If anyone could offer a hand, I'd be most grateful.
Regards,
James

The release of WinDVD 9 is imminent, I would suggest waiting a short time and no doubt there will be a 30 day free trial available.
