mpeg 2 to blu-ray dvd-r without converting to acvd

Post by tootal2 »

I download hd mpeg 2 from my tivo and make hd-dvds out of them on 4.7 dvd-r. When i try to make a blu-ray on a 4.7 dvd-r. It takes forever to convert the mpeg2 to avcd.. Is there anyway i can do this without converting it? Wil there be a patch or plugin that will fix this problem?

thanks

blu-ray options

Post by snelldl »

Is there a step by step procedure for creating a blu-ray disc on a standard DVD? I've looked for hours on the forums and documentation and clicked every option on every installed program I have with no luck. I can get an option to write to a blu-ray writer, but not any option to save to an iso file and then burn that to a standard DVD. I have the HD pack installed.

That would be called an AVCHD Disk.
Just start MF6+ select AVCHD as the project.
Go through the steps and burn a dvd.
If your using Vista you can copy the videos from the STREAMS folder of the burnt dvd. Or, import the videos back to your computer using the dvd/-vr avchd disk import feature.
You can also use the MF6 export features to create local avc/h264 videos.
Make sure to use the correct settings with respect to your source videos.
It's easier to first make a template then use the template to export the video and/or set your project settings accordingly.

I don't have an AVCHD option on the menu. I have HD, DVD, VCD and SVCD.

I don't know,
First you install MF6+ (Plus Version) Retail or USD
Then patch# 2 http://ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf_ftp.htm
Then the HD-Add-On Pack.
After you reboot the HD-Add-On pack that you bought adds these features.

My bad - now I remember I didn't buy the add on pack because I wasn't going to do Blu-ray. Sorry for the cornfusion.
