Manual for VS11 has print too small to read

Post by dazzler2 »

Hi everyone,
I respect Corel and its products very much and have been using them since Corel came into existance. However, sometimes a serious mistake is made that affects all users of a product.

I recently purchased a boxed Ulead VS11 Plus from Corel, which came with a miniature manual. Some donkey at Corel decided to save a few pennies in production at Corel by providing this useless manual with print too fine to read. Trouble is, we paid for a useable manual which is why we bought the boxed form. This error should have been caught by upper level management and blocked.

I suggest that all those who bought the boxed version of VS11 plus demand in writing to Corel that this useless minature manual be replaced at no cost to all registered users.

I will be installing and registering it soon.

Regards,

Do you find yourself holding the newspaper at arms length these days, and do policemen seem to be getting younger?

I'm sure the manual is aimed at "young" eyes..... :(

Sorry but did someone mention the writing was too small? find this problem with lots of instruction manuals and end up scanning them so I can read them on my computer screen - my eyes are not as good as they used to be!

Hold the [Ctrl] key and tap the [+] key !!

Manual for VS11 has print too small to read

Post by dazzler2 »

Hi Folks,
Thanks for your support...yeah sometime the eyes could do a better job. I guess I feel that if we loyal users let Corel get away with this error, we'll see it repeated continuously in the future. Best to stop it now.

I'm not a fan of online help in general, although it's fine on occasion. I prefer the printed manual, because it sometimes has to be studied to get things working right. Video Studio is certainly very intuitive in general, but there are numerous issues that stop us in our tracks...hence the need for this great forum.

Hi Dazzler,

despite my earlier flippancy I'm definitely with you on the benefits of having a usable printed manual, and in view of the fact that VS isn't just marketed at children, it would be better for Corel/Ulead to make the fonts readable.

My last boxed version was VS8, which came in a lavishly printed shiny box, and included an 8" x 5 1/2" folding, full colour glossy card Quick Start guide, and an approximately 200 page 7" x 4" monochrome printed manual.

Hi Dazzler,

I too, prefer printed manuals. Since I purchased the download version (an upgrade from VS10+ to VS11+), I downloaded the manual in pdf from Ulead web site.

Yeah,
I have the paper one in a box, and printed the .pdf to 8.5x11 (about 140% or so) and keep that at the workstation.
