Sound in Preview

Post by dchbbc »

Hi. Forgive me for not knowing what I'm doing but... I have Media Studio Pro V8 and I downloaded clips from Youtube and converted them to Movie Clips. They play in Media Placer 11 and have sound if I open them to edit in Roxio Video Editing but not with the Ulead programs. The audio tack shows but I don't have any sound in preview. When I burn the disc I get sound but not previewing it. Any ideas why?

Are not YouTube downloads in a X-Shockwave-Flash format? MSP does not have the correct codec for that.

Anyway, the quality is pretty poor to allow any serious editing, not to mention you may have copyright problems.

Thanks for the reply. I use "Tube Sucker' To extract the files from you tube and they are converted to MPEG (best quality) is what the drop down says. It's not the MPEG4 or any of the game or phone type captures. That is available and I don't set that. I was going to try saving it in a DVIX form and see if that changed anything.

I had a look at their web site. It is remarkably uninformative as to what it can or cannot do. However, it makes no mention of MPEG-1 or MPEG-2, only MPEG-4 and you need a plug-in for that (no guarantee it would work). Even if it does -1 or -2, there is no indication of the bitrate, audio format etc., so I can't help, sorry.
