Simultaneously play images and audio?

Simultaneously play images and audio?
Hello, I've installed Ulead Video Studio Plus version 10, and I am having a problem simultaneously previewing images and audio. I do not want to switch back to the crappy Windows Movie Maker all because of a little problem like this...I mean there MUST be a way to be able to do this. What I'm making is very simple too - I'm making a music video through a sequence of different comic books scans. ...It's annoying to save the video each time to simultaneously play images + audio at the same time....hope that explains it. Let me know, thanks.

Welcome to the forums,
Yes it is quite simple, that's why it's hard to find..
You need to be in Project Mode, instead of Clip mode. You should see the word Project to the left of the timeline. Pressing it puts you in Project playback mode.
If your Project Properties are set to DVD, VS will not allow High Quality Playback. HQ Playback is when VS renders a temp file so you can see the progress your making on your project. Instant Playback is just that, it instantly plays back your project. Most of the time, it will not be smooth if your project is complex.

Thanks for the quick reply! This sounds stupid, but I don't see anything that says Project or Clip Mode to the left of the timeline, except its on the right of the screen on the "preview" screen. I have clicked on both Project and Clip Mode - Clip mode plays only the audio while Project mode only plays the images. I need it to simultaneously play both.vidoman wrote:Welcome to the forums,

OK so you have scanned images from a comic book and some audio files which I imagine are Mp3's.
You are in VS and in timeline view you can see the different tracks... Video, Overlay track, Voice, Audio and titles etc.
You have moved the scanned stills to the Video Track and you have also moved the Audio files to the audio track.
Under the preview window there is a blue line then under that there is the words "Clip" and "project"
Clip on Project..make sure the curser is at the begining of the project and press "play".
You should now hear the audio while the slideshow of your scanned images show on the preview window.
Let us know if that helped

Tried that..it works as it does play the entire project, however, I'm beginning to think this is an audio problem now. Once the image sequences are done, it continues to play the audio, however, I don't hear the audio at all. The only time I can hear the audio is if I click on "clip" and press "play." ...Odd.Clevo wrote:OK so you have scanned images from a comic book and some audio files which I imagine are Mp3's.

Where did you source the audio from?
In the timeline right click the audio in the time line and write out the properties.
There is a free program called audacity (I have been finding it a bit undsteady in Vista 64bit) but it can convert audio files to .WAV files which VS seems to like better than other formats

I got the audio off of Limewire...it's basically an .mp3 song is all.Clevo wrote:Where did you source the audio from?

Audio: MPEG Audio Layer 3 Files
Total Samples: 12,567,168 Samples
Attributes: 44100 HZ, 16 Bit, Stereo
Layer: 3
Bit Rate: 127 Kbps
...Now, if I actually save the project as .mp4 or .wav or whatever, the audio and images will play how I want it to. ...? But I don't want to save each clip everytime - that's ridiculous.

VS sometimes has problems with MP3s. Convert them to wav files and they should play fine.
