Choppy Video

Post by Litebeer2k3 »

Ok, new information to add to this problem.

Up until this point I was only trying to capture video from my Sony MiniDV Digital Camcorder (DCR-TRV30). The video that I was attempting to capture was a project from ULead VS 6 that I had made last week before I upgraded to VS 11+. I had already transferred the Project from VS 6 onto a Mini DV tape in my camcorder using the Device Control under Project Playback. This was a fast action, lots of music, lots of transitions, and titles type of video. It is 4 1/2 minutes long. Since I deleted the project from VS 6, I was attempting to bring back the finalized video from the Mini DV tape into the upgraded VS 11+.

I tried something different today. I tried to capture the original video that was used to make the VS 6 Project from the same Sony Camcorder that I had used to make the Project in VS 6. Amazingly, I was able to capture the original video that was taken before editing in VS 6, into VS 11+ with no problem and it looked great. I then began to try to capture other original video's that I had and had no problem.

Then I found some other Projects from VS 6 that I had kept and transferred back to a Mini DV tape and tried to capture them into VS 11+. What I found was that there were a variety of problems with these captured videos. Some had no sound, some were very jerky, some skipped alot, which included music and video.

So now I am able to capture original video from a Mini DV tape but unable to capture a finished Project from VS 6 that I had saved on a Mini DV tape.

The reason that I want to capture these videos back into VS 11+ is so that I can burn them onto DVD. Then I could throw all my old Projects on Mini DV tapes in the garbage and keep the DVD's

Any suggestions why this is happening? Or, have you heard of this before? So far, this bullentin board has been a great source of information, thanks to everyone who contributes.
