Fresh Version 4 Upgrade install

I prefer to install new versions of programs after having uninstalled the previous one. In this case MF3 was a paid-for Download without the original CD. Does that mean that the new version (upgrade price) has to be installed on top of the current version to work? How does the Upgrade determine if you are an existing User if you uninstall first?

Hi Andrew, I do know that you can install DVD_MF4 without MF3 installed, but you have to have an Install cd for MF3. Now, you may be able to make an Install CD from your downloaded MF3 package by Extracting the files from your downloaded package into an empty Directory and then burning those files to a CD. This CD may be enough for DVD_MF4 to recognize you are Upgrading from MF3. I did NOT personnally do tihs and don't know if it will work as explained, but logically it should work.

The upgrade versions look for an old version on your computer, failing that, they ask for an old install CD. If they find neither, they don't install.

Thanks for your comments, will try making a copy CD of downloaded file, if I upgrade, waiting for news of Ulead and likely continued support.
