Wanted to boost the capability of vs 10, mainly the 'special effects' [video filters] aspect of the program.
Found a company called Pixelan offering CreativEase. Has anyone tried these effects in vs?? Do they expand the creative capabilities of the program?? Or, is there a better 3rd party add-on for vs??
Would really appreciate any responses!!

video studio 3rd party add ons
the fantasywarp and arttexture are the things i was looking for but they are not really for video studio, is that right? they cannot be used as plugins in the program?
(thats what i found interesting about the pixalan creativease software. they have a version for videostudio and i would assume that the creative effects from the software are incorporated in video studio.)
is there anything (and does video studio allow) 3rd party plugins, that will incorporate into the video studio program?
thank you for any info !!

Yes there are some 3rd party plug-ins that interface with VS. Stephan Burger has a transition and video plug-ins that do just that..
http://www.burgers-transition-site.de/.
I'm not sure how Plextor will work. Some have their own installers that search for the FX folders and install the plug-in to that folder Others you need to manually place the plug-in, into the required folder. For VS that would be the ~Video Studio/11.0/vfx_plug folder.

thanks for replying-
downloaded the burger files and the transitions work great; haven't, however, had much luck with the filter program. (it says it was developed for vs v7 or 8...)
tried running a couple of the filters and nothing really happens except there is a portion (of the filter entry screen) that gets a black highlight on it and that section look like it is programming info so perhaps the earlier programming is not suitable for vs 10.
i think i will order one of the pixelan creativeease video effects paks and see how they work. surprised no one has tried these. (or, if anyone has and you are reading this, please give a comment on how they are...)
thanks again for providing the burger info. if there is any info on how to get the burger video filters to work that would be great!!!

After installing the FX Bench Filters onto your computer they are used to a large extent just like any other filter. It is found in the Library manager

You then drag the filer onto the clip and then from the attribute tab select customize and select one of dozens of preset effects

If you are brave you can study the programming language on the right had side of the screen and create our own effects - though that is a bit advanced for most users.
