Haali Media Splitter and MovieFactory

Post by Dobs »

I want to be able to play my Canon HG10 AVCHD content in Windows Media Player. I was able to get it working just fine by installing FFDShow and Haali Media Splitter. However, when I install them, MovieFactory gets a bit messed up. The video plays fine, but the timeline is messed up (I cannot seek to a position in the video and it appears as if it thinks the video duration is much shorter than it actually is).

Now I have been able to determine that it is the Haali Media Splitter that is causing the problem and not FFDShow (for one, you can configure FFDShow to only be used in certain applications, so I have MovieFactory disabled). I can leave FFDShow installed and if I uninstall Haali then MovieFactory works again as expected, however, then I am unable to play video in WMP (I get audio but no video). If I reinstall Haali, then WMP works fine but MovieFactory gets messed up again.

I was wondering if anyone knows:

1.) A configuration in either MF or Haali in order to keep MF from using Haali.

2.) A way of temporarily disabling Haali without uninstalling it.

3.) An alternative MPEG-2 TS media splitter I can use that may work better with MF than Haali.
