VS 11.5.0157.1Plus
Hi

I've managed to include audio clips but now want to do a voice over. I have to say the help files and VS 11 manual (pages 97, 98 & 99) leave much to be desired!

I cannot find the following items referred to:

Music & Voice Tab; Record Voice, Adjust Volume Tab. What exactly is the Windows audio mixer?

Hope you can help this time as my previous query seems to have got lost.

regards

grif

Welcome to the forums,

First you need to be in the Audio Step. Look across the top of the VS program screen. You will see a series of tabs, from Left to Right they are Capture, Edit, Effect, Overlay, Title, Audio, and Share. Click on the Audio.

Now in the Audio Step, you should see 2 tabs on the Lower Right (unless you changed the Layout from the default layout), Music and Voice, and Auto Music. On the Music and Voice tab you should see the Record Voice with a small microphone icon. Clicking on that will open a Adjust Volume dialog window. This is where you can adjust the volume.

The Windows audio mixer is part of your operating system (WinXP or Vista). The quickest means I've found to access the audio mixer is by right-clicking on the speaker icon, located in your task bar, by the digital clock. In Windows XP, right-click on the speaker and select Open Volume Control. Now you have a series of sliders, just like a sound mixing console, where you can make volume adjustments for your system.

Thank you both Vidoman and ssj1805 for such informative and, more than I deserved, such polite responses. But I did scour the screens really hard without seeing what you've now vectored me to and now found.

So, thanks again for a wonderful 71st birthday present, literally.

I do hope you'll not mind me asking some more questions, shortly, of the same ilk without arousing any ire.

warmest regards
