Hi,
I'm hoping someone has seen this before. I have a color background (via the VS9 color function) on the video track and two lines of titles on the title track. One title fades in/out and one turns in/out. In editing and preview, the titles are aligned in the center of the screen. During render, they become noticably offset to the left (maybe 10% of screen width). They are both still aligned on their centers, but offset the same amount.
My project is setup for NTSC 4:3, with 704 x 480 MPEG2 (upper field first) as both raw video (from DVD camcorder) and rendered video.
Thanks for any suggestions or thoughts you might have!

Titles rendered off center in VS9?

Thanks John. If I use 720x480 then my video will rerender. I'd like to keep the best (original) quality if I can. But maybe rerendering 704x480 to 720x480 won't cause a noticable quality degradation (I've never tried it). I've rendered my usual 704x480 before with titles and no problems in VS7, but I'd like to use my new VS9 for current and future projects.

TJ,
It would be best if you recaptured at 720x480 because this would give you the best quality. I agreee with Coalman that rendering the change may dimish quality somewhat.
It really all depends on the quality level of your capture source. If it is from VCR tapes or TV, forgetaboutit. If from Hi8 thru S-Video connection there might be a noticible quality difference.

Hi John -- My DVD camcorder records direct to DVD-R in 704x480 MPEG2. That's the source of my video. I know DV is preferable for editing, but I like the DVD camcorder for my needs. For the little project I'm doing now, I can get around the problem by compensating my title positions to the right. But on a bigger project, that would be a real time killer. Thanks again for your help and I'm open to any other suggestions!
