Hi, all!
I'm using PI XL, with WinXP Pro.
I've just used Adobe Illustrator's Live Trace to create a vector image from a jpg file. (I'm using Illustrator CS2) I found in my PI help that I can import that by going to the Path tool, then the Custom Shape dialog, and then click the Import button. However, when I try that, I get a message that the file is not readable.
Any suggestions? I'd like to get that file into PI to use in a logo I'm working on. . .
Thanks!
Polli
Problem importing .ai files into PIXL

Hi Polli, welcome to this forum. I replied to your post in the PII forum already.
Whilst I was able to locate a copy of Illustrator CS2, I don't have PI XL working anywhere anymore either.
If you want you could send me the file in question (if you pm me I will give you the email address) to try it on PI 10, 11, 12 and X3. At least we can determine if a later PI can read the format.

Thanks, Nick. It's a file I created with Live Trace in Illustrator. So I think it's a single path, but it is not a closed shape. Maybe therein lies the problem. I found if I saved it in version 8 format in Illustrator, then PI XL would see it, but it imported a black square rather than the shape. Maybe this is why!
Thanks again!
