.vob file capture

Post by manu »

I have tried to capture .vob files which exist in a Video_TS folder which was created using a Sony DVD92; however, the files are not recognized by the capture tool. I changed the extension to a .mpeg, but the timecode did not match the original length of the movie clip.

Use the DVD Import function to import the DVD files in to Video Studio. (If the VOB files are on your hard drive, can't remember if you need to select the VIDEO_TS folder or the folder containing the VIDEO_TS folder.)

capturing .vob files

Post by manu »

DVDDoug and sjj1805 ...

Thanks for the response, but the "Import from DVD/DVD-VR" does not recognize .vob files after finalizing the video clips recorded by the DVD.

I received the following error ...

Failed to read DVD Information
Report ID: 0x80040901 (2305)

Any other thoughts? Currently using Ulead VideoStudio 11. Do I need a chopper to convert the .vob file to a readable video (.avi, mpeg) format?

Try this..

Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems, and rename the DVD folder to something like DVDOLD. Then reinstall the program. It will rebuild that folder.

Do you have Roxio or Nero installed? They each have a "drag to disc" utility that allows the DVD drive to be used just like a hard drive. However these utilities tend to not release the DVD burner for other programs. With Roxio's program you just need to disable it, with Nero's you must uninstall it.

DVDDoug and sjj1805 ...

Not sure what happened, but after reinstalling the Ulead® VideoStudio® 11 and Video Studio 11 Content Pack on my desktop, which runs Windows XP and has a direct connection to the internet vs my laptop, which runs Vista and has a wireless connection to the internet, the program import function worked fine.

Thanks again for your responses.
