Photo & Video Slideshow

Post by ktykatkty »

I have PictureShow 4 (bought many months ago, just now getting around to playing with it  ) Anyway, is there a way to create a slideshow that includes both pictures and video?

Thanks

Video clips and photos cannot be intermixed within a show however there is a provision for including a video clip that will automatically play before your photo slideshow begins. This option is accessed on the "2 Theme" tab near the bottom of the UI.

It is also possible to create separate photo and video shows and record them to one DVD. Create all of your shows in a single session and then arrange them in the the proper playback sequence by dragging and dropping their respective icons on the left panel of the "1 Organize" tab. Be sure to select a preference to have your shows play continuously rather than revert to the menu after each title. This preference can be set from File > Preferences > Output Settings > Navigation Controls ("After Playback" box) and select "Continue to play the next clip" from the dropdown menu. When viewed, it will appear as if you have intermixed video and static content with one notable exception. Your compilation of shows will not be connected with transition effects. Rather, there will be a brief pause between each show.

If you would like more creative freedom for your slide shows, my recommendation would be Corel's "VideoStudio 11" where content can be mixed any way you see fit by dropping video clips, photos, audio/music, transitions, and special effects on a timeline. If interested, I'd suggest experimenting with the free trial version before purchasing.

Hope that helps!

How Do I Activate PS4?

Post by brewbob »

I am not a PC illiterate.

I bought Ulead PS4 in Jan. Now I find out that Corel doesn't support it. I'm wrestling with just trying to install it on my PC and am very P.O.d to say the least.

I tried a demo version first. It worked fine. So I bought the full version and downloaded it onto a DVD.

When I went through the Install routine, it seemed to install. But then when I checked the file folders in Programs, it still shows "Trial Version". So I removed the program entirely and reinstalled. Still shows the damn trial version!

I put it on a DVD as a backup for a PC crash. Now I'm trying to USE the darn thing and can't find the magic icon for launching the program.

Does anyone know:

1) why a trial version still shows up when I purchased the full version?
2) how to launch the program?

TIA

Bob

Welcome to the forum Bob,

I think there might be a misunderstanding here. To the best of my knowledge, Corel will continue to support registered versions of their products for a reasonable period of time. Additionally, we (the members of this web board) are willing to help in any way we can. As to whether or not Corel will opt to continue development of the PS4 product is beyond my personal knowledge however it has been suggested by some that Version 4 may be the last.

Re 1), I'd suggest that you uninstall the program through add/remove programs and then manually delete the trial folder in your progam files (if it's still there). Then reboot, reinstall DVDPS4 and activate/register the software. If that doesn't help, let us know and we'll try something else.

Re 2), After you've reinstalled the software there should be a shortcut on your desktop. If not, you can make one manually as follows: Open the installation directory (usually "C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead CD & DVD PictureShow 4 ") and look for a file named "DVDPS4.exe". When you've located it, right click on it and select "Send To > Desktop". Double clicking the new shortcut on your desktop will launch PS4. You can also launch from Start > All Programs and then select and click "Ulead CD & DVD PictureShow 4"
