Hi,
I am new to Cool3D and I would like to know how I can edit the compositions to replace "Cool" with whatever I want.
Is this possible?
Also, where do I find more textures, colours, etc for the program.
Thank you,
FayeC
Editing the compositions
FayeC,
You are asking many questions, so I'll try to address them all.
Yes, the compositions can be edited. Depending on the composition, one may want to replace the image or video texture, etc... The compositions with COOL text can be replaced by using Edit Object. Simply, make sure the text(COOL) is listed in the Object Manager and then the Edit Object button will become enabled. Click on it and then enter your desired text. As for textures, you can use your own images and videos. Direct X limitation will resize larger images to 1024x1024. Surface color of your objects can also be changed by using basic color scheme or picker. The picker is much like defining custom colors in Microsoft Paint.
I would suggest looking over and trying some of the Learning Center tutorials at Corel/Ulead's site for COOL3D Production Studio. This will get you better acquainted with it's interface and help get you started.
Good luck!

Hi,
I have a question about COOL3D version 1. I¡¦m also new to COOL3D but my trying of the Ulead-tutorials does not answer my question.
I want to replace the videoclip in the LCD screen (the 2 sailingboats) of the camcorder which is in Compostion>>>>Movies. Ungrouping and editing of the monitor brings the new videoclip as a background in the whole project. You wrote to FayeC explicitely ¡§with COOL text can be replaced¡¨. Is that my problem that only text can be replaced?
Please drop me a few lines and thanks in advance.

Wim Kok,
This is a simple procedure, one needs to replace the video texture.
In the Easy Palette, the camcorder with LCD is located under Objects>Animated Objects. Click on the thumbnail and it will appear in your project window. Now, go to the Object list and use the dropdown arrow. You need to select "moniter". There are two "moniter" objects. Select the one furthest down. Once selected, go to the Attribute Panel and use the dropdown arrow to find Texture. You will notice that the Use and Video checkboxes are checked. This is where you can load your image or video file to replace the default sailboat video texture. That's it.

Thank you for the quick and detailed response! With this ¡§step by step¡¨ explanation I can now understand the manual better and I¡¦m happy with the outcome! I could load the right video file. Version 1 is what I have at the moment, but I think that the actual version 3.5 offers more.
If that is right, I think to buy 3.5.
Thanks again for your help with my start!
