Search function ??

Hi all-
Why doesn't this forum have a 'search' function? It is nearly imposibble to hunt through all the topics to find a germain topic. all I can do is post a 'new topic' even though the same question has been answered before.
Am I missing something?

If you know the question has been answered before, why do you have to search for it?

I find the search function quite helpful. It depends what you are looking for, I guess. If you don't know the exact phrase you are looking for, any database search function is not very helpful.

I don't know if the/a question has ever been asked/answered before. That is the point...I will never know and, therefore have to start a new topic for every question. A searchable database would alleviate having to start a new topic EVERYTIME...rather than use a search function to see if the topic had been broached before. A key word is as helpful as a phrase. I don't see a codition where a search function would NOT be helpful. If you are inclined to not use the search function...you would do as the forum does now....sans the search abilities. A search function can only ADD to the usefulness and ease of navigation within the forum.
I assume you get the point. The question remains...why no search function in the forum? Too dificult? Not the right code? Not the proper format? Or??
