Use the selection tool, select circle shape
I have PI 7, but...
There is an area selection tool (dotted box with an arrow). When you select this tool, there is a drop-down list of rectangle, square, circle, ellipse. Select circle. Select the region you want to crop, and then use Edit...Crop or Ctrl-R.
