With great difficulty, if ever. VS 9 is such an old program that I doubt very much it can be done.

Try to run it in compatibility mode for XP.

Welcome to the forums,

First I must ask you to resize the image in your Signature. While it is a very well made image, it is a bit large to be used in a signature. Signatures are repeated with every post (if you have selected that option), so therefore can take up considerable space. I would recommend reducing the size to where the height is no more than 80px.

With Ulead (now Corel) applications, they do not provide patches for older versions, to make them compatible with newer operating systems. The current release of VideoStudio is VS11 and VS11+. Since Vista was being released while VS10/VS10+ was current, a patch was released to make it Vista compatible.

There have been successes with some now "phased-out" versions running on Vista machines. Generally what they have done is to disable Aeros, and possibly the UAC (User Account Control). Then set the compatibility to run as WinXP.

Part of the problems with the older versions not running on Vista is due to the capture device/plug-in compatibility. Vista apparently does not support the DirectShow or WDM capture plug-ins. This was changed with VS11, which now uses the IVI (developed by Intervideo Digital). Since VS9 uses the older (but better) capture plug-in, it may not work on a Vista machine.

Aside from that is just by trial and error, with a lot of luck that the older versions may run on Vista boxes..
