AcK!
I am using VS10, and I have an annoying problem.
I created a short video file out of a compilation I edited together (made with the same settings as the project),
and then I tried to insert that video file into another video I am making. The file works fine when I play the clip itself, but when I go to Project preview, there is NO Audio!
I check it back in clip preview, and it works perfect, and then back to Project preview and still no audio. It is only this one clip that has the problem. I tried to remake it and I have the same issue. I Repaired VideoStudio itself but I still have the same issue.
The Track is not on mute and everything seems to be set as usual.
I am at a loss, but I have to get this file working. Any thoughts?
I'm using XP pro SP2 - and nothing has recently change that I know of. Everything has worked fine for a year up until yesterday
No Audio

On the face of it, it looks like a rock standard mpeg-2. Sometimes there can be 'sneaky' corruption in some mpeg files which only show up in this sort of way. Have you tried rendering this new project, which includes the problem file, either to a new file, or preferably, using the burning module, into a DVD Folder? You could then test it as if it were a burned DVD in a software DVD player to see if there is audio in the problem area.
Come to think of it, can you play the problem file back, with audio, in a software player?
The only other thing I can think of would be to process/re-encode the problem file in a dedicated mpeg editor which might correct the problem. You can download a trial version of Video ReDo. I am not sure if there is a trial version of Womble, but that is another excellent mpeg editor...
