Have you tried downloading the current drivers from HP's website?

Try starting HERE, by selecting your model, then your operating system (Win2000), to get to the download page for the drivers.

Depending on how old your scanner is, PI may not support it. I have an old Visioneer Flatbed scanner, that PI would not recognize, so I finally had to replace it. I would just use the software that came with the scanner to scan my documents and images. Then have to convert the images, since it scanned to it's proprietary format, to one that PI would recognize.

Sorry I'm not familiar with Win2000, I've used machines running it, however not with any Admin privileges. If it has System Restore capability, have you tried restoring to a point before the crash?

Lastly if you have the installation disc for your scanner, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the scanner? Sometimes this helps when drivers have been corrupted from computer crashes to just start from anew..

hallo,

I've copied down sj166en.exe. This sw was offered by ulead for windows2000 (my system) .ok. this SW include the newer Version DeskScan 2.9

but , it is this setup from sj166en.exe , which interrupt the installation with the Information, which I wrote yesterday..

My Situation is, that I can't install a SW where I have the Lizence .

You wrote:
lease view:
Error message when you install or start an MS-DOS or 16-bit Windows-based program

ergo
sj166en.exe must be an 16-bit Windows-based programm !!!!
Where can I find the SW Deskscan (HP Scanjet 4c) which is a 32 bit based program.

thank you

My problem is finished

solution:
the totalsituation was, to expand autoexec.nt, config.nt and command.co

and plus

an expand the file "command.com"

This must be done for errors by the systems Windows2000,windows2003,windows xp

The Page , which I wrote above ,may be also in all speaches, I Hope
I mean : de=en=etc
