I Need A Nice Person To Help!

Post by mauiwh »

Hi:

I have a .mov video. I pull it into 11 plus and when I press play the viseo is jerky and the sound skips, before I do any editing. I do not know why I have tried everything. I have two megs of ram could this be it? Other videos do not do this however. I would like to email the file to someone to load in their 11 plus and see what I am talking about. Interested parties please email me at mauiwh@hotmail.com and I will send you the file, thank you!

I hope it is a typo that you only have 2megs of RAM. The last version of Windows that would run on that minute amount was Win3.0, and even that was pushing it. Win98se requires much more than that.

It is very common for Instant Playback in VS to not be smooth, even for the slightly compressed DV format. The file format you're using is very highly compressed, so more difficult for VS and a computer that is not very well endowed to handle. When you press the Play button, VS must through everything together on-the-fly. However since you apparently have not done any editing, it should be somewhat smooth, especially in Clip mode.

Without knowing what your system setup is, providing a possible solution can be very difficult. Please complete your System Information in your profile. Clicking on this button -->Image will take you to a short tutorial, explaining how to find and complete that information. This way it will always be available, and will save you from retyping it in the future.

Where did you get the MOV file from, this is a format extensively used by mobile phones or digital cameras. If so the quality will not be that great as they are designed for viewing on a small screen.
