Ok - based on all the advice I stated using WinDV v1.2.3 to capture video and have less of the freeze frame jitter issues (actually none so far) that seem to be an issue when using VS11+ to capture from 8mm analog. Yeah!
I do have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to - How do you stop WinDV from going ang going after it has captured the intended number of frames? If I put in a two hour tape to capture and specify 226,000 frames (enough to capture the 2 hours @ 30fps and a bit to spare), and let it run overnight, WinDV faithfully captures the 226,000 frames, then starts a new file and keeps recording "blank" video input for another 226,000 frames, and then again and again stopping only when the disk is full.
Is there any way to set WinDV to capture only one set of 226,000 framses and then stop?
WinDV keeps on going and going and going.........
