Subtitles and special characters display

Post by syrens »

Hi there,

I imported a srt file in a DVD Movie Factory 6+ project in order to get subtitles. It seems to work but I encouter some troubles with the special character like ', " or ... which are not displayed correctly.

There are not a lot of settings in the Edit Subtitle section so I don't know what I could do to fix this problem.

Any idea?

Many thanks

Open the srt file up in a simple text editor like notepad or wordpad.
After you open it up you can figure out and see how the format works with the numbering, then the timing values and the text under that.

Look for those characters and maybe find out why they are being displayed wrong.
When you look at the file it's pretty simple to see how the srt's are made.
Save it under a different filename to retain the original file.
Notepad or wordpad may force an extension of txt, just change it to srt but MF can also load the txt file if you clear the filters when inserting srt files.
