Bonjour,
I use the Plextor Digital Video Converter PX-AV100U since 2 years to capture video from my camcorder and VCR. This system worked fine with VS10+ but not with VS11+. I have the same problem with DVDMF6. The video is clear but the sound is very very very bad. I used diferent setting like LPCM, MPEG, DOLBY, etc. the sound still the same: very bad. According to you, what could cause this problem ?
Thank you very much.
Very worst sound

How is it bad? Choppy, distorted, loud, soft?

Hamel,
your problem piqued my interest. I searched the Plextor web site and found this in the FAQs:
Here's the URL

When I capture my video with the PX-AV100U, the audio is distorted. How can I fix this?
1. In WinDVD Creator, when you are in Capture mode, click on the Wrench icon to open the capture settings. Select the Record tab and then move the slider for the Record Volume down. This will lower the volume of the audio to an acceptable level.
2. Distorted or noisy audio has been reported in some systems using using ¡§Virtual ¡§ processors, also known as Hyperthreading. Hyperthreading is a feature of some Intel P4 systems. The solution is to disable Hyperthreading in the system BIOS when using the PX-AV100U to capture audio. Please consult your user manual for instructions. Intel also recommends disabling Hyperthreading for all operating systems except Windows XP.
3. Distorted or noisy audio has been reported in dual processor systems. There is no solution at this time. Plextor suggests using the PX-AV100U on a single processor system only.

Hi erock1,
I have been to see the Plextor web site before to post my problem on this forum. Thank you.
I think that the problem seems more complicated. I spoke with a sound engineer and according to him, it seems that the converter (Plextor) does not recognize the Dolby DIGITAL Audio coming from the source or a driver was deleted following the installation of VS11+.
So, I will continue to carry out tests.

Hi everybody,
I would like to share with you my last test about my problem:
720x480 (16:9 or 4:3)
LPCM or Dolby or MPEG
The video is clear but the audio is very poor. The audio pop right in.
352x240
(Same properties then 720x480)
The video and audio are clean.
I don't understand what happend. Any idea ?
Thank you for your helps.
