Making CD

Post by 62cwil »

I previously created a movie and burned to DVD. I now have a need to burn a CD but only saved the .mpg file. Is their a way to bring it up in VS8 and then reburn as a CD. I was able to take the CD and import into the editor but was one clip only. I could also play it up on the preview screen controls but now when I went to share and selected play. Also I selected the CD setting but would not burn. Any help is appreciated.

You have to convert your current DVD MPEG's to VCD MPEG, use the VCD template. VCD's vary from DVD's you need to create the rest of the project (menus, chapters)over. VCD menus are also more limited.

If the video is small enough to fit on a CD but is in DVD resolution, you could burn a MiniDVD, i.e. write the normal DVD-compliant disk and data structure onto CD media. Quite a few standalone DVD players will play those, although you may need to limit the bitrate to no more than 6000Mbps to allow some standalone to play them smoothly.

Is that a CD-ROM drive attached to a PC? If you have UVS 8, you can go to the Advanced Properties in the final Create Disk dialog, and enable the option to place the Ulead DVD Player on the disk. He/she would then be able to play the disk on the PC.

If it's a CD player attached to a computer and your looking for a simple & easy route you could just burn the video file direct to CD as a file. Convert the file to lower a bitrate MPEG1 or WMV for compatibility and smaller file size.
