Capture is with lines or gibberish, how to compress...

Post by Jenny Weisberg »

Thanks so much for your advice! Thanks to your amazing advice, I have made some progress with my situation. See below what I've figured out so far¡K (and my remaining questions)

Summary of what I have figured out so far¡K

1. If I register the qdv.dll, then I can see a picture when I work with Video Studio, but when I open the DivX folder it crashes the browser.

2. When I unregister qdv.dll, I can see the picture in Video Studio, but when I open up the DivX folder it crashes the browser.

3. I switched around the project settings (from MPEG to AVI), as you suggested. Now I can capture on Windows Movie Maker or Video Studio, but there are big lines across the screen, and the voice sounds like gibberish, or I just see one frame, and the sounds keeps moving.

A few questions¡K

1.Do you know what the capture settings should be?

2. I am trying to capture enormous files. Is it possible to compress them during the capture? If yes, how?

3. I have noticed that people have suggested capturing video on Windows Movie Maker. Will I be able to edit these wmv files on VS8?

I truly appreciate all of your help¡KI'm not exactly sure what's helping, but after I followed your advice, things started looking A LOT better!!!

Thanks so much for all of your help¡Kjenny weisberg

Jenny, we have no idea what kind of clips you are dealing with (dv-avi, mpeg-2, divx, etc.) or how you obtained them (video camera, vcr, internet, etc.), among other things. In other words, we need more info.
