Titles out of sync with video in VS10
After editing a project in jpg format I have ended up with a file which has about 30 miutes of video but the counter shows 1h 10 m! Examining it in project mode (rather than clip) I see that all the titles have been delayed (i.e. they are in the wrong place on the time line) and, as expected, the last 2/3 or so is blank. How can I fix this, if it is fixable?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Simply drag the title to where it should be. If you want to move them all click on the first one, then shift+click on the last one, then move them.

Titles out of sync etc
Most of the titles belong to the first 2/3 of the video which I deleted during editing!! I tried to delete the remaining misplaced titles but this does not free up any space in the file.

If you are saying your project still shows 1 hour and 10 minutes after you have removed the titles then you must have something else at the end of you project. Check you overlay tracks and your audio tracks.
BTW, had you enabled Ripple Editing, when you initially deleted the first 2/3 of the video the titles would have moved automatically.

Hi Nicholas
Using the Home and End keys adjacent to the Play button will navigate from one end of the clip/project to the other.
Make sure you are in Project Playback (click the word Project next to the play button)
Clicking the End button will navigate to the last frame in the project.
What is in the timeline at this point?
Expanding / contracting the view. Zoom in---Zoom out.
Below the navigation buttons sits a Zoom control use this to view more or less of the clip.
Use the right square to fit project to timeline.
Float your mouse over the different buttons for a tool tip.
Hope this Helps

Too bad no one mentioned ripple editing in my previous calls for help with sync problems
It could have saved me DAYS of frustration.
No both the overlay and music tracks were empty but there was lots of black screen after the end of the video with a few seconds of a title at the end (I was editing an mpg file that I had created at the end of editing a project). Anyway I managed to delete the blank stuff: it was slow going even with a dual processor. So now my file is down to 28 mins!
I am not sure what "right square" trevor refers to to fit the project in the timeline.

Touche, pussy cat! As a matter of fact I did read it but there was a lot of detail and the presentation left much to be desired in terms of clarity. So I basically used an intuitive approach to editing plus an excellent tutorial which I found in this forum (no mention of ripple editing
)
You must admit that the ripple editing button is pretty inconspicuous!
Anyway, hopefully my dvd production henceforth will be smoother.
Thanks for your help.

It truly is a learning experience, and it will never stop being so. That's what makes it so challenging, and fun!

If you have clips only on the main video track, and the other tracks are empty then Ripple Editing will have no effect.
Clips can be moved with Ripple Editing enabled, but if you have something in the other tracks they will not be affected. That's what Ripple Editing does - it "locks" the other tracks. If Ripple Editing is disabled, and you remove a clip from the main track, everything in the other tracks will move.
